Mixed Media Journal Challenge
One of the first handmade books I made with a huge learning curve.
Cover: 4½” x 6¼”
Cover Paper: Hand Painted brown paper bag
Signatures: 6” x 9” folded to 6” x 4½”
There are six signatures with 6 pages each
4 Ply Waxed Linen Thread
Learning Curve:
1. Figure out a way to weigh it down so accordion signatures don’t go off at an angle.
2. Make larger holes in the book board before sewing stitches.
(I broke three needles sewing the straps onto the cover boards!)
3. Use a thinner book board for this project.
4. The accordion paper cracked and the holes were blown out. I thought I folded with the grain but, maybe not.
